Division - there were over 50 entries!
Here's a little
good news. Not long ago I entered Slayer of Innocence in the Writer's Digest 11th
Annual International Self-published Book Awards contest. Although the book
didn't place in the top ten, the judge's evaluation of it was outstanding.
11TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL SELF-PUBLISHED BOOK
AWARDS
″Difficult to read because of the tragic nature of the
subject, but interesting and riveting, this author holds the reader's attention
by this thorough and descriptive portrayal of the tracking of a serial
pedophile killer. Written from the vantage point of the police detective who
was determined to capture the murderer, this author shows an outstanding
ability to tell a story with important details.
One of the exceptional qualities that comes through in
this book is the author's understanding of the mind of the serial killer and of
his passion to bring this horrific individual to justice. Because of his
background, the story has credibility with the reader and encourages the reader
to join the chase. He concludes this book with a warning to parents not to be
ignorant of devices people use to kidnap and harm children. There were very few
instances where I felt that the author slipped away from the consistent story
telling format that interrupted the flow.″
